Why I Love Being Hyper-Independent (And Why You Might Too!)

Hello lovely readers,

Ever find yourself waiting around for someone to turn up, only to realise you’re actually more content doing things alone? Yep, that’s me—your resident hyper-independent soul. It’s not that I don’t enjoy company; it’s just that I’ve learned to cherish my own vibe. Here’s the lowdown on why I love being hyper-independent, and maybe you’ll recognise yourself in some of these reasons!

1. Waiting for Others? Nah, I’ve Got this.

There’s a special kind of patience you develop when you’re always waiting for people who might be caught up—like that friend who’s probably going to be late (and usually is). Instead of stressing, I’ve learned to treat my time as precious. I turn up when I want, do what I want, and avoid that awkward “Where are you?” text.

2. Doing Things Alone Is Surprisingly Fun

Going solo to a new café, taking a spontaneous drive, or just binge-watching that series without sharing the remote—these are adventures in independence. It’s like dating yourself, and honestly, it’s pretty wonderful. You get to decide everything—no compromises, no waiting, just pure, unfiltered fun.

3. Independence = No Drama

Ever had that moment where plans turn into a game of Chinese whispers? Or where a simple outing turns into a full group discussion? When you do stuff alone, those tears and dramas? They stay well away. It’s just you, your vibe, and the open road.

4. I Trust My Judgement

Being hyper-independent means I trust my own judgment. Whether it’s choosing a new hobby, tackling a DIY project, or making a big decision, I adapt, learn, and grow on my own terms. No need to wait on someone else to validate my ideas—I’m my own biggest cheerleader.

5. The Best Self-Discovery

Honestly, spending time alone often means discovering parts of myself I never knew existed. I’ve learned to appreciate my own company, face my fears, and celebrate my wins—big or small.

In a nutshell: Being hyper-independent is my superpower. It’s about loving your own company, knowing your worth, and not settling for less than your happiness. So, next time you’re tempted to wait around, remember—you’re your own best friend, and that’s totally okay.

 Maybe even more than okay!
