The Ultimate Mum Hack: The Launderette (Yes, Really)
Let me tell you something that’s changed my life — and no, it’s not a fancy planner or a colour-coded chore chart.
It’s… the launderette.
Yes. The proper, old-school, clothes-washing wonderland down the road. And honestly? I think I’m in love.
🖤 One Giant Black Bag to Save My Sanity
I took a massive black bin bag stuffed full of clothes from my five kids (plus a few of my own), chucked it in the car, and dropped it off at the launderette like it was a gift from the heavens.
And they — wait for it — washed it, dried it, and folded it.
All for £18. I mean, come on.
That’s £18 to avoid:
- Sorting through endless piles
- The damp smell when it’s “too nice to put the heating on” but “too wet to dry outside”
- Finding somewhere to hang 52 socks indoors
- And shouting “WHO LEFT THEIR PANTS ON THE STAIRS AGAIN?!”
What I Did Instead
While the clothes were being pampered, I had time to:
- Take the kids to the park
- Pop in to see friends
- Drink a cuppa that wasn’t lukewarm
And best of all — it was ready the same afternoon.
I usually collect it the next day though, because, you know… life.
Final Thoughts
If you can spare the £18, do it.
It’s the ultimate time-saving hack for mums who are juggling a million things and just can’t face another load of laundry.
Better than a takeaway.
Better than a new mascara.
(Okay, maybe not better than mascara — but it’s close.)
everyone Knows
I love a good mascara. <<< Click here to see what I use.
I’m not saying the launderette is magical, but my folded socks would say otherwise.
