☆ Coffee

!f you know me, you know this: coffee isn’t just a drink, it’s survival. Without it, mornings in this house would end with me crying in a laundry basket while the kids eat crisps for breakfast.

Without coffee, this house would collapse faster than a Jenga tower in a toddler’s hands. Coffee is not a luxury for me — it’s a survival tool.

Take a look at some of my Must Haves.

The Machine

I don’t need a fancy café set-up or to froth milk like a barista on Instagram. I need a button I can press at 6am that delivers the strong stuff without judging me for the fact I’m still in last night’s pyjamas. My machine does exactly that.

Reliable. Quick. Cheap and Doesn’t roll its eyes when I go back for round two… or three.

The Coffee

Over the years, I’ve tried everything: instant that tastes like disappointment, “posh” beans that cost more than my weekly food shop, pods that somehow vanish the second you actually need them. But I’ve found the one that gets me through the morning school run without plotting my escape to another country. Smooth enough to sip, strong enough to make me believe I can survive a day of “MOM, MOM, MOM” on repeat.

These days, I bulk-buy Tassimo coffee pods like I’m stockpiling for the apocalypse — and thank God I do, because somehow they still manage to disappear at alarming speed. I swear my kids don’t drink coffee, but the way these pods vanish, I’m starting to have doubts.

The Thermal Cup

Here’s the truth: making coffee and drinking coffee are two entirely different sports in this house. I’ll brew it, set it down, break up two arguments, find a missing shoe, pack a lunch, sign a school slip… and by the time I come back? Ice cold sludge.

But my thermal cup? That’s my secret weapon. It keeps my coffee hot for six whole hours. SIX. HOURS. That’s practically witchcraft. I can abandon it at 7am, come back at lunchtime, and it’s still steaming like I’ve just made it. Honestly, it’s the closest thing I’ve got to magic in this house.

𝒮𝑜 𝓎𝑒𝓈, 𝓂𝓎 𝓃𝓊𝓂𝒷𝑒𝓇 𝑜𝓃𝑒 𝑀𝑜𝓂 𝑀𝓊𝓈𝓉 𝐻𝒶𝓋𝑒 𝒾𝓈𝓃’𝓉 𝓈𝓀𝒾𝓃𝒸𝒶𝓇𝑒, 𝒸𝒶𝓃𝒹𝓁𝑒𝓈, 𝑜𝓇 𝓈𝓅𝒶 𝒹𝒶𝓎𝓈. 𝐼𝓉’𝓈 𝒸𝑜𝒻𝒻𝑒𝑒. 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝓂𝒶𝒸𝒽𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓂𝒶𝓀𝑒𝓈 𝒾𝓉, 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒷𝓁𝑒𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒻𝓊𝑒𝓁𝓈 𝓂𝑒, 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓇𝓂𝒶𝓁 𝒸𝓊𝓅 𝓉𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝓈𝒶𝓋𝑒𝓈 𝓂𝑒 𝒻𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓁𝓊𝓀𝑒𝓌𝒶𝓇𝓂 𝓂𝒾𝓈𝑒𝓇𝓎. 𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝓉 𝓉𝒽𝑒𝓂, 𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓈 𝒷𝓁𝑜𝑔 𝓌𝑜𝓊𝓁𝒹𝓃’𝓉 𝒷𝑒 𝒸𝒶𝓁𝓁𝑒𝒹 𝐹𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝒹𝓈 𝒪𝓃𝑒 𝑀o𝓂. 𝐼𝓉’𝒹 𝒷𝑒 𝐹𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝒦𝒾𝒹𝓈, 𝒩𝑜 𝑀o𝓂 — 𝐵𝑒𝒸𝒶𝓊𝓈𝑒 𝒮𝒽𝑒 𝒟𝒾𝒹𝓃’𝓉 𝒮𝓊𝓇𝓋𝒾𝓋𝑒 𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽𝑜𝓊𝓉 𝒞𝑜𝒻𝒻𝑒𝑒.

Because lukewarm coffee is no battle any mom should have to fight!

Guess What?

Guess what? Right now the universe is smiling on us — because all my coffee must haves are actually on sale at Amazon.

The machine that keeps me alive in the mornings? Cheaper.
The Tassimo pods I bulk-buy like I’m prepping for the end of the world? Discounted.
The thermal cup that saves me from stone-cold sludge at 2pm? Bargain.

If you’re a mom who’s sick of cold, sad coffee… do yourself a favour. Grab the machine, stockpile the pods, and get yourself a cup that’ll keep your sanity steaming hot all day.
